This cottage was built between 1820 and 1860 and was served as the home of the very poorest shepherds. The oldest known owner was Alois Rais, whose name is unusual for this area and for the time.
We must also mention the owner during communism, that was Auto-Cooperative Prague. Communist construction and working methods made a bad work to a cottage (internal decor from formica and concrete everywhere).
We would like to renovate the old character of this real mountain cottage and that is why we are searching for historical artifacts, typical for this area. One of the most precious articles of our collection is a wooden backpack (above the long table in the corner). It is said that the porters were climbing up with goods (70kg) as many as three times a day. There are snowshoes next to the backpack too, which we have to mention, a fork and a shovel also.
